We all have our comfort zones, that space of family, friends, and home where we are most content.  Our children have a way of expanding those boundaries by pulling us into new experiences.  My son Ryan's love for animals brought us all the way to Camelot.  We knew very little about horses and what we could do, but we took the leap to volunteer.  We have learned and experienced so much in the years since.  We learn what courage really is when we see people who are willing to move from the safety of their wheelchair to the back of a horse.  I am humbled by the trust these individuals put in the horse and the volunteers who help them.  Their courage makes any step I have made to become a volunteer seem small in comparison.  I am so glad we took that step out of our comfort zone.  It has changed our lives.

Without volunteers, The Camelot Center would not be able to continue. Volunteers at The Camelot Center provide assistance through walking alongside riders and leading horses during lessons, animal care, and maintenance of facility grounds. In addition, volunteers who give 20 hours of service at the center receive a 30 minute riding lesson in appreciation of their dedication. Volunteers should be at least 14 yrs. of age.  No horse experience is necessary as we provide training.  This is a great opportunity for community service hours for high school students.  For more info, please call us at 330-889-0036 or email us at info@camelotcenter.org
